I’ve spent the last two weeks testing a slew of personal finance apps. I’ve tried Mint, Quicken, Clarity, Penny, Personal Capital, and EveryDollar.
I was looking for the following:
- Multi-device support, desktop, mobile, and tablet
- Support for a variety of banks and brokerage accounts
- Ability to budget
- Ability to track stocks
- Ability to add external liabilities and assets (e.g. bitcoin holdings etc.)
For me, Personal Capital was the winner. The software gives you a very high level “net worth” summary as well as allowing you to dig into budgeting details.
